29 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, he said: Ḥamza ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to me, he said: ʿAbdān informed us, he said: ʿAbd Allāh informed us: Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb narrated to us, from Ibn Ghaziyya, he said: "Abū al-Juhaym al-Ḥārith ibn al-Ṣimma used not to sit with the Helpers (Ansar). So when it was said to him [about that], he said: 'People are worse than solitude.' And he used to say: 'I will never lead anyone in prayer as long as I live, nor will I ride a mount unless I am a guarantor'—meaning before Allāh. He said: And they claimed he was among the most devout of people and the most diligent of them in effort, and he would never leave the mosque." (1).
