Kurz ibn Wabara and Seclusion

62 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, he said: It was narrated to me on the authority of Badr ibn Muʿādh, he said: I heard my father say to Kurz ibn Wabara: "If only you would sit in the mosque." He replied: "I dislike sitting there; for I would either hear a statement that pleases me and lend my ear to it, or hear a statement that displeases me and my heart would become preoccupied. Indeed, I wonder at one who has the Qurʾān, how he yearns for the talk of men?!" (1)
