69 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me, he said: Rustam ibn al-Nuʿmān narrated to us, he said: Sulaymān ibn Ḥayyān Abū Khālid al-Aḥmar narrated to us, he said: ʿAṭwān ibn ʿAmr al-Tamīmī was a man of seclusion, and he used to stick to the desert cemetery behind al-Kūfa. A group of people came to him to greet him with peace, and they found him unconscious among the graves. They remained with him until he regained consciousness—or he said: until he felt embarrassed before them—and he began, in the manner of making an excuse, saying to them: "Sometimes sleep overcomes me, and sometimes exhaustion strikes me, so I throw myself down like this."
