4 – Biography of Abū al-Karam al-Shahrazūrī

He is: Abū al-Karam al-Mubārak ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad al-Shahrazūrī, from the people of Baghdad. He heard from: Abū al-Qāsim Ismāʿīl ibn Masʿada al-Ismāʿīlī, Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Khayrūn, Rizq Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Tamīmī, and others. And from him narrated al-Samʿānī and Abū al-Ḥasan al-Azajī. He was born in the year 462 AH in the month of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir.

And al-Samʿānī said regarding him: "A virtuous, righteous, devout reciter, upholding the Book of Allah Almighty."

And he also said: "A righteous, devout, good Sheikh, a custodian of the Book of Allah."

And al-Dhahabī said: "The Imam, the masterful reciter, the unique." He died in the year 550 AH in Dhū al-Ḥijja.

5 – Biography of Abū al-Ḥasan al-Azajī

He is: Abū al-Ḥusayn ʿAlī ibn Abī ʿUbayd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn Abī al-Ḥasan Manṣūr ibn al-Munayyir al-Baghdādī, the authority of chains of transmission in the Egyptian lands. He was born in the year 545 AH, and heard from Shuhda, Maʿmar ibn al-Fākhir, and a group. Al-Dhahabī described him in "al-Siyar" (23/119), saying: "The Sheikh, the authority of chains of transmission, the righteous, the destination of travelers of his time." He died in the year 643 AH.
