Harb al-Kirmani (may Allah have mercy on him) stated in his creed, which was transmitted regarding the consensus of the People of the Sunnah (112): "The people of desires, innovation, and opposition have introduced heinous and ugly names with which they label the People of the Sunnah, intending thereby to disparage them, attack them, defame them, and belittle them in the eyes of the foolish and the ignorant... As for the Jahmites (Jahmiyya): they call the People of the Sunnah 'Anthropomorphists' (Mushabbbiha). The Jahmites—the enemies of Allah—have lied; rather, they are more deserving of the labels of anthropomorphism and denial. They have fabricated lies against Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, spoke falsehood and slander concerning Him, and fell into disbelief through their statements.

As for the proponents of opinion and analogy (Ashab al-Ra'y wal-Qiyas): they call the followers of the Sunnah 'Nabita' (upstarts) and 'Hashwiyya' (the coreless). The proponents of opinion—the enemies of Allah—have lied; rather, they are the true Nabita and Hashwiyya. They abandoned the reports (athar) of the Messenger ﷺ and his Hadith, spoke based on opinion, measured the religion through juridical preference (istihsan), and ruled in opposition to the Book and the Sunnah. They are people of innovation—ignorant, astray, and seekers of the worldly life through lies and slander."

I say: This is not surprising coming from this Jahmite who filled his books and commentaries with false slanders and fabricated accusations against the imams of the Pious Predecessors (Salaf) and those who followed them among the People of the Sunnah in every time and place. I have only mentioned this here so that it becomes clear to you that this book penned by al-Dashti (may Allah have mercy on him)—in which he detailed the creed of the People of the Sunnah regarding [Allah's] High Exaltation (al-‘Uluww) and Rising (al-Istawa’)—is a thorn in the throats of the people of innovation among the Jahmites, the Ash‘aris, and others among those who negate the Attributes (mu‘attila) or those influenced by them.

وقال حرب الكرماني رحمه الله في اعتقاده الذي نقل في إجماع أهل السنة (١١٢): وقد أحدثَ أهلُ الأهواءِ والبدعِ والخلافِ أسماءً شنيعةً قبيحةً، فسموا بها أهلَ السُّنةِ؛ يُريدون بذلك عيبهم، والطعنَ عليهم، والوقيعةَ فيهم، والإزراءَ بهم عند السُّفهاءِ والجُهَّالِ .. وأما (الجهمية):

فإنهم يسمون أهلَ السُّنةِ: (مُشبهةً)، وكذبت الجهميةُ أعداءُ الله، بل هم أولى بالتشبيه والتكذيب، افتروا على الله عز وجل الكذبَ، وقالوا على الله الزُّورَ والإفكَ، وكفروا في قولهم ..

وأما (أصحابُ الرَّأي والقياس): فإنهم يُسمُّون أصحابَ السُّنةِ:

(نابتةً، وحشويةً) وكذب أصحابُ الرأي أعداءُ الله، بل هم النابتةُ والحشوية؛ تركوا أثر الرسول ﷺ وحديثه، وقالوا بالرأي، وقاسوا الدِّينَ بالاستحسان، وحكموا بخلاف الكتاب والسُّنة، وهم أصحابُ بدعةٍ جهلةٌ ضُلَّالٌ طُلَّابُ دنيا بالكذب والبُهتان. اهـ

قلت: وليس هذا بغريبٍ من هذا الجهمي الذي ملأ كتبه وتعليقاته بالطعون الكاذبة، والاتهامات الزائفة لأئمة السَّلف ومن تبعهم من أهل السُّنة في كلِّ زمانٍ ومكانٍ.

وإنما ذكرته هاهنا حتى يتبيَّن لك أن هذا الكتاب التي سطره الدَّشتي رحمه الله، وذكر فيه عقيدة أهل السُّنة في العلو والاستواء أنه:

شجى في حلوق أهل البدع من الجهمية والأشاعرة وغيرهم من مُعطلة الصِّفات أو من تأثَّر بهم.
