And among what has been reported regarding the affirmation of place for God the Exalted:
1- The hadith of the Night Journey (al-Isrāʾ), which contains: "...so Mūsā stopped him and said: 'O Muḥammad, what did your Lord enjoin upon you?' He said: 'He enjoined upon me fifty prayers every day and night.' He said: 'Your nation cannot bear that, so return and let your Lord lighten it for them.' The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, turned to Jibrīl as if consulting him about that, and Jibrīl indicated to him: 'Yes, if you wish.' So he ascended with him to the Compeller, and he said, while He was in His place: 'O Lord, lighten it for us, for my nation cannot bear this...'" the hadith.
[Narrated by al-Bukhārī in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (7517)]
2- From Anas, may God be pleased with him, the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "So I will seek permission from my Lord in His abode, and permission will be granted to me. When I see Him, I will fall down in prostration..." [Narrated by al-Bukhārī (7440)].
3- The hadith of Muʿāwiya b. al-Ḥakam al-Sulamī, may God be pleased with him, which contains the Prophet's, peace and blessings of God be upon him, question to the slave girl: "Where is God?" She said: "In the heaven." [Narrated by Muslim (537)].
4- The poem of al-ʿAbbās b. Mirdās al-Sulamī, may God be pleased with him, in which he praised the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, approved of it, which contains his statement:
Exalted in elevation above the Throne is our God, and The place of God is highest and greatest.
