5- From Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh, may God be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "Indeed, God descends every night to the lowest heaven for the third of the night and says: 'Is there any servant of Mine supplicating to Me so that I may answer him?'..." the hadith.

And it contains: "So that remains His place until the dawn prayer is prayed, then our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, ascends to the highest heaven upon His Footstool (Kursī)."

6- The statement of Muḥammad b. Kaʿb al-Quraẓī to ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, may Allah have mercy on him, describing the bliss of the people of Paradise. He said: "So He—meaning: God—will say: 'Ask Me.' They—meaning: the people of Paradise—will say: 'What should we ask You, for by Your might, Your majesty, and Your elevation in Your place...'" [Its referencing preceded (p. 101)]

7- The statement of ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, may God be pleased with him.

• ʿUthmān al-Dārimī, may Allah have mercy on him, said in "al-Radd ʿalā al-Jahmiyya" (85): Muḥammad b. ʿImrān b. Abī Laylā narrated to us, Mūsā—Abū Muḥammad, from the freedmen of ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān—narrated to us, he said: and he was among the best of people—from Khālid b. Yazīd b. ʿAbdullāh, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: ʿAlī, may God be pleased with him, delivered to the people the sermon after which he did not deliver another, saying: "Praise be to God who is near in His elevation, and far in His nearness; nothing reaches His place, and nothing He desires is withheld from Him."
