their students and those among them who desire to stand upon the speech of the Predecessors (Salaf) in the chapters of the Attributes.
And here is Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, in Ijtimāʿ al-Juyūsh (p. 228), while speaking about Imam al-Dārimī, may Allah have mercy on him, and his two books: al-Radd ʿalā al-Jahmiyya and al-Naqḍ ʿalā al-Marīsī, he said: "His two books are among the most majestic books authored on the Sunna and the most beneficial of them. It is incumbent upon every seeker of the Sunna whose desire is to stand upon what the Companions, may God be pleased with them, the Successors, and the imams were upon, to read his two books. Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyya, may Allah have mercy on him, used to highly recommend these two books, and he venerated them greatly. He, may Allah have mercy on him, tore away the veil of the Jahmiyya in this book and exposed their scandals. I do not know of a book by the early scholars in this subject better than it, and than his other book in refutation of the Jahmiyya in general." End quote.
