Translation · EN

His Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him.

Notes

  • (1) And this is the path that God Almighty and His Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him, commanded to be followed, and upon which the imams of the Sunna in every place have formed a consensus, as Ḥarb al-Kirmānī, may Allah have mercy on him, transmitted their consensus in his creed, saying: "Religion is only: the Book of God Almighty, and reports, Sunnas, and authentic narrations from reliable transmitters with authentic, strong, well-known, and famous reports, narrated by the first known reliable transmitter from the second known reliable transmitter, each confirming the other, until that reaches the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, or the Companions of the Prophet, or the Successors, or the successors of the Successors, or those after them among the known imams who are emulated, who hold fast to the Sunna and cling to the reports, who are not known for any innovation, nor criticized for lying, nor accused of opposition, and who are not partisans of analogy or opinion; because analogy in religion is invalid, and opinion is likewise, and even more invalid. The partisans of opinion and analogy in religion are ignorant, misguided innovators; unless there is a report regarding that from the Predecessors among the reliable imams, in which case taking the report is more appropriate."
