Ithbāt al-Ḥadd by al-Dashtī — Edited by ‘Ādil Āl Ḥamdān

the deniers of the attributes (al-Muʿaṭṭila) has some validity. Here he says about the Jahmī al-Kawtharī, regarding his attacks on the people of the Sunna in matters of creed: '... but - truth be told - he may sometimes find in what some of them [meaning: the Imams of the Sunna] narrate of hadiths and reports that which supports his fabrication...' etc. [Mukhtaṣar al-ʿUluww (p. 14)].

So the point is that his statement regarding the book Ithbāt al-Ḥadd lillāh Taʿālā by al-Dashtī: 'There is nothing in it that testifies to that from the Book and the Sunna' is incorrect. How many books of the people of innovations has al-Albānī mentioned in his index Makhṭūṭāt Dār al-Kutub al-Ẓāhiriyya without following them up with warning and cautioning!! They were more deserving of being followed up than the book Ithbāt al-Ḥadd lillāh Taʿālā by al-Dashtī, in which he mentioned nothing but the creed of the People of the Sunna and the Congregation!

May Allah have mercy on al-Ājurrī (d. 360 AH) when he says in al-Sharīʿa (1/301): 'The sign of the one for whom God intends good is traversing this path: the Book of God, the Sunan of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, the Sunan of his Companions, may God be pleased with them, and those who followed them in excellence, and what the Imams of the Muslims were upon in every land, down to the last of the scholars, such as: al-Awzāʿī, Sufyān al-Thawrī, Mālik bin Anas, al-Shāfiʿī, Aḥmad bin Ḥanbal, al-Qāsim bin Sallām, and whoever was upon their path, and avoiding every school of law that these scholars do not adopt.' End quote.

Ḥarb al-Kirmānī (d. 280 AH), may Allah have mercy on him, said in his creed in which he transmitted the consensus of the scholars (89): 'Whoever claims that he does not see imitation, and does not imitate anyone in his religion; this is the statement of a transgressing innovator, an enemy to God, to His Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him, to His religion, to His Book, and to the Sunna of His Prophet, upon him
