Know that definitive evidence indicates the existence of the Creator, and His establishment as an Essence in true affirmation, and that there must be a separation between Him and His creation, which necessitates His being solitary in Himself. This exactly is the limit and the end. Only the inexperienced who have no expertise are deceived by the difficulty of attributing the limit, the utmost extent, and the end to Him Almighty, despite their acknowledgment that He is distinct in His Essence, solitary, and separate from His creation. This is a contradiction on their part in creed, which they base on ignorance of the matter and stopping at familiarity.
Whatever is of this nature, its speaker cannot be relied upon, nor can the one who commits it be trusted.
The true statement and the decisive judgment [6/a] is: that the Creator, glory be to Him, has an Essence established in true affirmation, which the Creator encompasses with knowledge, and that He is not ignorant of Himself, but rather knows it with a true knowledge by which its separation is established, and by which it is distinguished (1) from whatever is besides it, and that it is a direction unto itself, subsisting by itself, independent by its power from whatever would strengthen it (2), carry it, and bear it. This exactly gives the limit and the end to what is separated (3) from us, I mean the entire universe revolving and encompassing the servants. As for what His knowledge Almighty encompasses of the utmost extents of His Essence, it is limited by His knowledge, known to Himself, not ending at another direction, for whatever is besides the entire universe and apart from the Eternal Essence is nothing, so it cannot be pointed to, nor is it known by emptiness or fullness.
