And Yusuf bin Khalil al-Dimashqi informed us, Abu 'Abdullah bin Abi Zayd al-Karani informed us - in Isfahan -, they said: Abu Mansur Mahmud bin Isma'il al-Sayrafi informed them, Abu Ja'far said - reading to him while he was present -: Abu al-Hasan (1) Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Fadhshah informed us, he said: Abu al-Qasim al-Tabarani narrated to us, he said: Muhammad bin 'Abdullah al-Hadrami narrated to us, 'Abdullah bin Abi Ziyad al-Qatawani narrated to us, Yahya bin Abi Bukayr narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Abdullah bin Khalifa, from 'Umar [may God be pleased with him], he said: A woman came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and said: "Supplicate to God to admit me into Paradise."

So he glorified the Lord, then said: "Indeed, His Footstool encompasses the heavens and the earth, and He sits upon it, and there does not remain of it but the space of four fingers.

  • Then he gestured with his fingers, bringing them together -, and indeed, it has a creaking like the creaking of a new saddle when it is mounted, due to His weight" (2).

This is a Sahih (Authentic) hadith; its narrators meet the condition of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.

34- And Abu 'Abdullah (3) informed us, Abu Muslim al-Mu'ayyad bin al-Ikhwa informed us - in Isfahan -,
