and Abū Aḥmad al-ʿAssāl in the Book Al-Maʿrifa as in Al-ʿUluww (1/57) by al-Dhahabī, and al-Marwazī in Taʿẓīm Qadr al-Ṣalāt (265) from the hadith of Anas, may God be pleased with him, but without the wording: "sitting" (al-quʿūd). Their wording is: "It will be opened for me, and I will come to my Lord while He is upon His bed or upon His footstool—Ḥammād doubted—and I will fall down in prostration." Al-Dhahabī said in Al-ʿUluww (1/57): "Abū Aḥmad al-ʿAssāl recorded it in the Book Al-Maʿrifa with a strong Chain of transmission..." End quote. * The hadith has corroborating reports, including: The hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās, may God be pleased with them both, narrated by al-Ṭayālisī in his Musnad (2834), and Aḥmad in his Musnad (1/281 and 295), but without mentioning: "sitting" (al-quʿūd). Its wording is: "I will reach the gate of Paradise and ask for it to be opened. It will be said: 'Who is this?' I will say: 'Aḥmad.' It will be opened for me, and I will reach my Lord while He is upon His footstool, and I will fall down in prostration." In its Chain of transmission is ʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān, and there is weakness in him. The hadith of ʿAbd Allāh b. Unays al-Juhanī, may God be pleased with him, which contains the statement of the Prophet, Peace and blessings of God be upon him: "When the Day of Resurrection comes, the people will be gathered barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. Then God will sit upon His footstool, then He will call out to them with a voice heard by those far away just as it is heard by those near, saying: 'I am the King, the Requiter; there is no Injustice today...'" the hadith. Aḥmad narrated it (3/459), as did al-Bukhārī in his Ṣaḥīḥ (Book of Knowledge, Chapter on Going Out in Search of Knowledge) in suspended, definitive form, and in Al-Adab al-Mufrad (970), Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in Al-Āḥād wa-al-Mathānī (2034), al-Rūyānī in his Musnad (2/471), and al-Ḥākim in his Mustadrak (4/574). Al-Ṭabarānī narrated it in Musnad al-Shāmiyyīn (156) in a lengthy form. Ibn Ḥajar said in Al-Fatḥ (1/174): "Its Chain of transmission is sound." His statement: "Then God will sit upon His footstool" is not found except with al-Rūyānī in his Musnad. The hadith of Thaʿlaba b. al-Ḥakam, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Prophet, Peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "God, Mighty and Majestic, will say to the scholars on the Day of Resurrection when He sits upon His footstool to judge His servants: 'I did not place My knowledge and My wisdom in you
