Description of the Manuscript:

We have encountered only a single manuscript of this book among the holdings of the Zahiriyya Library in Damascus. It is a complete copy, written in a fine hand, consisting of 29 folios. Most folios are written on both sides, with 13 lines per page, and it contains audition notes (sama‘at).

Editorial Methodology:

1. Introductions regarding the core issues addressed in the book.

2. A biography of the author.

3. Critical editing of the text, including necessary additions [ ] where they are indispensable.

4. Referencing and authentication (takhrij) of the hadiths and reports (athar).

5. Biographies of the individuals mentioned in the text upon whom the various opinions revolve.

6. Appending a treatise (juz’) by Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding the discussion of al-Khattabi on the issue of affirming a limit (hadd) for Allah the Exalted.
