and {What prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands?} [Ṣād: 75]... These people said: 'God does not have a hand, and He did not create Adam with His hands; rather, His hands are His two blessings and His two provisions.' Thus, they claimed regarding the hands of God something more atrocious than what the Jews claimed. The Jews said: 'The hand of God is chained,' while the Jahmiyya said: 'The hand of God is created,' because blessings and provisions are created without a doubt. That is impossible in the speech of the Arabs, let alone it being disbelief; because it is impossible to say: 'He created Adam with His blessing'... And we also declare them to be disbelievers due to the well-known aspect of their disbelief that they do not affirm for God, Blessed and Exalted, a face, nor hearing, nor sight, nor knowledge, nor speech, nor an attribute except with an interpretation of misguidance. They have been exposed, and their shameful flaws have become apparent. They say: 'His hearing, His sight, His knowledge, and His speech are of one meaning, and He Himself is in every place'... And this is also a clear school of law in declaring them to be disbelievers." End quote.
2- Ibn Khuzayma, may Allah have mercy on him, said in al-Tawḥīd (1/106): "(Chapter on affirming hearing and sight for God, Majestic and Exalted, who is as He described Himself, All-Hearing, All-Seeing. Whoever's object of worship is other than All-Hearing and All-Seeing, then he is a disbeliever in God, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing; he worships other than the Creator, the Maker, who is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.)"
3- Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Isḥāq al-Sarrāj (d. 313 AH), may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Whoever does not acknowledge and believe that God Almighty: marvels, laughs, and descends every night to the lowest heaven and says: 'Who will ask Me so that I may give him?'; then he is a heretic (zindīq) and a disbeliever. He is asked to repent; if he repents [it is accepted], otherwise his neck is struck, he is not prayed over, and he is not buried in the graveyards of the Muslims." [al-ʿUluww by al-Dhahabī (492)]
7- Their denial of the believers' vision of their Lord, Mighty and Majestic, on the Day of Resurrection.
Al-Sijzī, may Allah have mercy on him, said in his epistle al-Ḥarf wa-al-Ṣawt (p. 137): "(Clarification of their agreement with the Mu'tazilites in many of the issues of the foundational principles, and that they exceed them in ugliness and corruption of speech in some of them)." He said: "As for their agreement with the Mu'tazilites; the Mu'tazilites said: It is not permissible for God Almighty to be seen with the eyes, and that He is not visible.
And al-Ashʿarī said: He is visible, but He is not seen with the eyes through opposition. Thus, he manifested disagreement with them while actually agreeing with them." End quote.
And Ibn Taymiyya, may Allah have mercy on him, said in Bayān Talbīs al-Jahmiyya (2/434): "The imams of the companions of
