In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Indeed, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His aid, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and from the wickedness of our deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

To proceed:

For the sake of completing the benefit, manifesting the truth, and refuting every denier who opposes the creed of the Pious Predecessors (al-Salaf al-Salih), we have deemed it appropriate—after seeking Allah’s guidance (Istikharah) and consultation (Istisharah)—to append to this book what Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded in his book Bayan Talbis al-Jahmiyyah regarding the substantiation of the issue of affirming the "Limit" (al-Hadd) for Allah the Exalted, and his refutation of al-Khattabi, who vilified the People of the Sunnah (Ahl al-Sunnah) for their affirmation of the Limit for Allah the Exalted. It is a lengthy discourse in which he cited extensive narrations from each of:

1. ‘Uthman bin Sa‘id al-Darimi.

2. Al-Khallal.

3. Al-Qadi Abu Ya‘la.

4. Al-Ansari al-Harawi.

And Allah is the ultimate objective, and He is sufficient for us, and the best Disposer of affairs.
