Exalted be He, are not taken except from the Book of God, or from the statement of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, to the exclusion of the statement of anyone among the people."
So they say to him: If you and those you followed had fulfilled following this path, you would not have compelled us and our imams to negate your innovations; rather, you abandoned the requirement of the Book and the Sunna in negation and affirmation.
As for negation: You negated things from God Almighty that neither a Book, nor a Sunna, nor any imam among the imams of the Muslims spoke of; rather, even the intellect does not dictate that upon verification, yet you said: The intellect negated them.
Thus, you contradicted the Sharia with innovation and semantic contradiction, and you contradicted explicit intellects, and you said: He is not a body, nor a substance, nor occupying space, nor in a direction, nor can He be pointed to with the senses, nor is anything distinguished from anything else within Him, and you expressed that by saying that He, Exalted be He, is not divisible, nor composite, and that He has no ḥadd, nor limit, intending by that that it is impossible for Him to have a ḥadd and a measure; or to have an infinite measure, and the like of that!
And it is known that description by negation is like description by affirmation.
So how was this negation permissible for you without a Book or a Sunna, despite the consensus of the Predecessors (Salaf) on condemning whoever innovated that, and their naming them Jahmiyya, and their condemnation of the people of this speech?!
And as for affirmation:
