Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728 AH), may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:
'It has been established on the authority of the imams of the Salaf (pious predecessors) that they said: "Allah has a hadd (limit)," and that no one besides Him knows it, and that He is distinct from His creation. The People of Hadith and the Sunnah have authored various works regarding this matter.' [Bayan Talbis al-Jahmiyyah (3/590)]
قال شيخ الإسلام ابن تيميّة (٧٢٨هـ)
رَحِمَهُ اللهُ:
وقد ثبت عن أئمة السَّلف أنَّهم قالوا: (لله حدّ)، وأنَّ ذلك لا يعلمه غيره، وأنَّه مُباين لخلقه، وفي ذلك لأهل الحديث والسُّنة مُصنَّفات. اهـ
