In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Introduction to the Second Edition

All praise is due to Allah for His excellence, and thanks be to Him for His guidance and grace. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his companions in great abundance.

To proceed:

This is the second edition of the book Ithbat al-Hadd li-Allah 'Azza wa-Jall (The Affirmation of the Limit for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic) by Abu Muhammad Mahmud ibn Abi al-Qasim al-Dashti (d. 665 AH), may Allah have mercy on him.

I have re-examined it, and corrected what Allah Almighty enabled me to correct, adding many comments and points of benefit; I ask Allah to make them of use.

This work is considered the sixth book in my series 'The Publication of the Books of Sunnah and Creed,' from which the following have been published: Al-Sunnah by 'Abdullah ibn Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him), Al-Sunnah by Harb al-Kirmani (may Allah have mercy on him), Al-Ibanah al-Sughra by Ibn Battah (may Allah have mercy on him), and Al-Jami' fi 'Aqa'id wa Rasa'il Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Athar (The Compendium of the Creeds and Epistles of the People of Sunnah and Narrations), which comprised sixty creeds from the creeds of the People of Sunnah, and Al-Radd 'ala al-Mubtadi'ah (The Refutation of the Innovators) by Ibn
