“‘Allah has no limit’—meaning by that that Allah is in every place—has apostatized from the religion of Islam, joined the polytheists, and disbelieved in Allah and His signs.” [This will appear on p. 185].
As for the stance of some of the People of the Sunnah toward those who deny the limit, the statement of Abu Isma‘il al-Harawi in Dhamm al-Kalam (4/402) was previously mentioned:
“I asked Yahya ibn ‘Ammar about Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti, saying: ‘Did you see him?’
He replied: ‘How could I not have seen him, when we were the ones who expelled him from Sijistan! He possessed much knowledge, but he did not have much religion. He came to us and denied the limit for Allah, so we expelled him from Sijistan.’”
Yahya ibn ‘Ammar is among the [recognized] imams, may Allah the Almighty have mercy on them. As for Ibn Hibban, he is among those who negate the Attributes (mu‘attila), as is evident in his book al-Sahih, and as will follow; and Allah knows best.
