(3) – In the sense of: sa‘ida (He ascended).
Among those who held this view:
Al-Farra’ said: “{Then He rose (istawa)} means He ascended (sa‘ida),” and this was also stated by Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both. [Al-‘Arsh (5) by al-Dhahabi, and Al-Asma’ wa al-Sifat by al-Bayhaqi (3/1037) (878)].
Abu ‘Ubaydah Ma‘mar ibn al-Muthanna (d. 209 AH). [Tafsir al-Baghawi (2/165)].
(4) – In the sense of: istaqarra (He settled/established).
Among those who held this view:
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both. [Al-Asma’ wa al-Sifat by al-Bayhaqi (873), and Ijtima‘ al-Juyush by Ibn al-Qayyim (p. 249)].
