And in al-Tabarani's Mu‘jam: al-‘Ala’ ibn Maslamah. Ibn Salim is 'not bad' (la ba’sa bihi), whereas Ibn Maslamah was criticized by Ibn Hibban and al-Azdi.]

  1. The hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the Intercession (Shafa‘ah), in which he ﷺ said: “They shall come to me, and I will walk before them until we reach the gate of Paradise. I will ask for it to be opened, and permission will be granted to me. Then I shall enter upon my Lord and find Him sitting upon the Chair of Might (Kursi al-‘Izzah)...”

[Its detailed documentation (takhrij) will follow under number 52].

  1. The hadith of ‘Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma‘mar, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the Descent (Nuzul), in which he ﷺ said: “...and when He descends to the lowest heaven, He sits upon His Chair...”

[Recorded by Ibn Mandah in al-Radd ‘ala al-Jahmiyyah (p. 80), and he said: “It has an origin (asl) with Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyib as a mursal report.” End quote. It was also recorded by Ibn al-Muhibb in al-Sifat (1/218a). Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Ijtima‘ al-Juyush (109): “Abu ‘Abd Allah recorded it in his Musnad, and it is narrated from Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyib both as a mursal and a mawsul (connected) report. Al-Shafi‘i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: ‘The mursal reports of Sa‘id are considered good (hasan) by us.’”]

  1. The lengthy hadith of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the Intercession, in which he ﷺ said: “I shall come to my Lord and find Him upon His Chair—or His Throne (sarir)—sitting.”

[Ibn al-Qayyim said in Ijtima‘ al-Juyush (p. 108): “Recorded by Ahmad in his Musnad.” I say: The hadith is in Ahmad’s Musnad (1/281, 295), but I found it without the wording “sitting” (jalisan). Its detailed documentation will follow under number 52.]
