201- Mūsa ibn Hārūn al-Hamdānī narrated to me, he said: 'Amr ibn Ṭalḥa narrated to us, he said: Asbāṭ ibn Naṣr narrated to us, from al-Suddī in a report he mentioned, from Abū Mālik, and from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Ibn 'Abbās—and from Murra al-Hamdānī from Ibn Mas'ūd—and from people among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him): "Not of those who have evoked Your anger," they are the Jews.

202- Ibn Ḥumayd al-Rāzī narrated to us, he said: Mihrān narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Mujāhid, he said: "Not of those who have evoked Your anger," he said: They are the Jews.

203- Aḥmad ibn Ḥāzim al-Ghifārī narrated to us, he said: 'Abd Allāh narrated to us, from Abū Ja'far, from al-Rabī': "Not of those who have evoked Your anger," he said: The Jews.

204- Al-Qāsim narrated to us, he said: Al-Ḥusayn narrated to us, he said: Ḥajjāj narrated to me, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: Ibn 'Abbās said: "Not of those who have evoked Your anger," he said: The Jews.

205- Yūnus ibn 'Abd al-A'lā narrated to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd said: "Not of those who have evoked Your anger," the Jews.

206- Yūnus narrated to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd narrated to me, from his father, he said: "Those who have evoked Your anger," the Jews.

Abū Ja'far said: Scholars differed regarding the description of anger from God—exalted be His mention:

Some of them said: God's anger upon those of His creation with whom He is angry is the execution of His punishment upon the one He is angry with, whether in his worldly life or in his Hereafter, just as He described Himself—exalted be His mention—in His Book, saying: {So when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all} [Sūrat al-Zukhruf: 55].

And as He said: {Say, "Shall I inform you of what is worse than that as penalty from God? It is that of those whom God has cursed
