542- Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr narrated to me, he said: Abū ʿĀṣim narrated to us, from ʿĪsā, from Ibn Abī Najīḥ, from Mujāhid regarding the word of God, exalted be His mention: "And they will have therein purified spouses", he said: Purified from menstruation, feces, urine, mucus, spittle, semen, and childbirth.

543- Al-Muthannā ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to me, he said: Suwayd ibn Naṣr narrated to us, he said: Ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujāhid, the like of it.

544- Al-Ḥasan ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, he said: Al-Thawrī informed us, from Ibn Abī Najīḥ, from Mujāhid, he said: They do not urinate, nor defecate, nor menstruate, nor give birth, nor emit semen, nor spit.

545- Al-Muthannā narrated to me, he said: Abū Ḥudhayfa narrated to us, he said: Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abī Najīḥ, from Mujāhid, similar to the report of Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū ʿĀṣim.

546- Bishr ibn Muʿādh narrated to us, he said: Yazīd ibn Zurayʿ narrated to us, from Saʿīd, from Qatāda: "And they will have therein purified spouses"—yes, by God, from sin and harm.

547- Al-Ḥasan ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, he said: Maʿmar informed us, from Qatāda regarding His statement: "And they will have therein purified spouses", he said: God purified them from all urine, feces, filth, and from every sin.

548- It was narrated to me on the authority of ʿAmmār ibn al-Ḥasan, he said: Ibn Abī Jaʿfar narrated to me, from his father, from Qatāda, he said: Purified from menstruation, pregnancy, and harm.

549- It was narrated to me on the authority of ʿAmmār ibn al-Ḥasan, he said: Ibn Abī Jaʿfar narrated to me, from his father, from Layth, from Mujāhid, he said: Purified from menstruation and pregnancy.

550- Yūnus narrated to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Zayd: "And they will have therein purified spouses", he said: The purified woman is the one who does not menstruate. He said: And the spouses of this world are not purified; do you not see that they bleed and leave off prayer and fasting? Ibn Zayd said: And likewise Eve was created until she disobeyed; so when she disobeyed, God said: I created you purified,
