My brother, Sayyid Maḥmūd, insisted on laying part of the burden upon me, by collaborating with him in reviewing the book, documenting its hadiths, and studying its chains of transmission. This—alone—is a task beyond my capacity. But I could not abandon him; so I accepted and set to work, relying upon Allah and seeking His help.

And I ask Allah, glorified be He, for guidance, correctness, care, and success. Indeed, He is the All-Hearer of Supplication. Written by Aḥmad Muḥammad Shākir May Allah pardon him through His favor. Cairo, Friday, 4 Jumādā al-Ākhira, 1374.
