from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb, from al-Ḥasan ibn Saʿd, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding “And He taught Adam the names, all of them,” He said: even the silent wind and the small silent wind.

653- ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan narrated to us, saying: Muslim narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab narrated to us, from Qays, from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb, from Saʿīd ibn Maʿbad, from Ibn ʿAbbās, regarding the statement of Allah: “And He taught Adam the names, all of them,” He said: He taught him the name of everything, even the thing and the little thing, the silent wind and the audible wind.

654- And al-Qāsim narrated to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn narrated to us, saying: ʿAlī ibn Mushir narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb, He said: Ibn ʿAbbās said: He taught him the bowl from the small bowl, and the silent wind from the small silent wind. (1)

655- And Bishr ibn Muʿādh narrated to us, saying: Yazīd ibn Zurayʿ narrated to us, from Saʿīd, from Qatāda, regarding His statement: “And He taught Adam the names, all of them,” until he reached: “Indeed, You are the Knowing, the Wise,” He said: “O Adam, inform them of their names,” so he informed every kind of creation of its name, and attributed it to its genre. 656- And al-Ḥasan ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, saying: Maʿmar narrated to us, from Qatāda, regarding His statement: “And He taught Adam the names, all of them,” He said: He taught him the name of everything: this is a mountain, this is a sea, this is such and such, and this is such and such, for everything; then He presented those things to the angels and said: “Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful.” (3)

657- And al-Qāsim narrated to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn narrated to us, saying: Ḥajjāj narrated to me, from Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim—and Mubārak, from al-Ḥasan—and Abū Bakr, from al-Ḥasan and Qatāda,
