al-Rabīʿ, from Abū al-ʿĀliya, regarding His statement: "Remember My favor", he said: His favor was that He appointed from among them prophets and messengers, and sent down the Scriptures to them. (1)

803- And al-Muthannā narrated to me, saying: Abū Ḥudhayfa narrated to us, saying: Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abī Najīḥ, from Mujāhid: "Remember My favor which I bestowed upon you", meaning His favor that He bestowed upon the Children of Israel, in what He named and in what was besides that: He gushed forth the stone for them, sent down manna and quails upon them, and saved them from the bondage of the family of Pharaoh. (2)

804- And Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said regarding His statement: "My favor which I bestowed upon you": He said: His favors are general, and no favor is greater than Islam, and all other favors follow it. And he recited the statement of God: {They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, "Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, God has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to faith, if you should be truthful."} (17) [Sūrat al-Ḥujurāt: 17]

And God's reminding those whom He reminded, exalted be His praise, with this verse of His favors through the tongue of His Messenger Muhammad, Peace and blessings of God be upon him, is analogous to Moses's, blessings of God be upon him, reminding their predecessors during his time, which God reported about him when he said to them, and that is His statement: {And when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of God upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you kings and gave you what He had not given to anyone among the worlds."} [Sūrat al-Māʾida: 20]
