Volume 1 · Page 10Chapter: A finger gets urine on it, sweats, and then touches a garment

Translation · EN

23 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: 'Ubayd al-Basir narrated to us, saying: I asked al-Hasan about two qullatayn (vessels) or two jars into which a donkey urinated, a carcass fell into, or a dog drank from? He said: "Drink and perform wudu' (ablution) with it."

I said to Ishaq: "A man urinated, then intended to wipe his private part on a wall, but it touched his garment?" He said: "If he is certain, he should wash it as a precaution."

24 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, saying: al-Walid narrated to us, saying: I said to Abu 'Amr: "And as for splashes of urine that I see falling toward me, but my eyes do not discern their location, nor does my hand feel them?" He said: "It suffices for you to sprinkle them with water."

Chapter: A Finger Touched by Urine, Then It Sweats, and It Touches a Garment

I said to Ishaq: "A man urinated, and a small amount of urine got onto his finger, but he did not wash his finger. Then it sweated, and he touched his garment; what do you say about that?" He said: "He must wash it. And if he does not know the location, he should wash the entire garment."

25 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Tufawi narrated to us, saying: Yunus narrated from al-Hasan, that he used to say: "If you know that it has touched your garment, but you do not see it, wash the entire garment."
