Chapter: Bedding Affected by Semen and the Urine of an Infant, and Sleeping Upon It
I said to Ishaq: "What do you say regarding bedding upon which a man and his wife sleep, and he has intercourse with her on it, and perhaps semen gets on the bedding? He has no doubt that the bedding is not clean, so the man sleeps on it, and he sweats, and the bedding becomes wet, and this moisture touches his body; does he wash it?" Abu Ya'qub said: "If he is certain, he should wash what it touched; thoroughly." I said: "[What if] he does not know its location?" He said: "He washes his entire body, like the garment; if he does not know its location, he washes the entire garment."
I said to Ishaq: "If the bedding belongs to an infant who has not yet eaten food, and he urinates on it, then a man sleeps on it and sweats; what do you say about that?" He said: "There is nothing upon him." I said: "[What] if the infant has already eaten food?" He said: "He should wash it; thoroughly."
I heard Ishaq say: "Pure semen that is not mixed with urine gets on a garment, and one sweats in it"; he said: "There is no harm in it."
I said to Ishaq: "What if a garment has moisture... until the garment stuck to the bedding?" He said: "If the filth of the bedding is other than semen, he should wash it."
26 - Abu Ma'n narrated to us, saying: Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Hawshab ibn 'Aqil narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan was asked about the urine of an infant that gets on his mother's garment; does she wash it? He said: "No, until he eats [food]."
