Chapter: Tayammum (Dry Ablution)
• I heard Abu Abdullah Ahmad ibn Hanbal say—regarding Tayammum: "A single strike for the face and the palms; he begins with his face, then he wipes his palms, one with the other." It was said to him: Has the Hadith of Ammar regarding that been authenticated from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him? He said: "Yes, it has been authenticated."
• And I heard Ahmad—another time—say: "Tayammum is a single strike; he begins with the face." It was said: Should he blow into his hands? He did not favor that.
