And they erred in that they specified ten dirhams for that, such that if it reached or exceeded that, he is not obligated to purchase it. We do not agree with their claim that it suffices him to perform tayammum if he finds it for less than ten dirhams, according to what Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak mentioned from Abu Hanifah.
364 - Mahmud narrated to us, saying: Al-Walid informed us, saying: I said to Abu 'Amr: What is your opinion if I do not find water except for a price? He said: "You purchase it and do not perform tayammum if it is sold for the price that water usually reaches."
365 - He said: And al-Walid narrated to us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, who said: "Purchase it for the price at which water is usually sold."
366 - He said: And al-Walid narrated to us, from Malik ibn Anas, the like of it.
Chapter: The Intention in Tayammum
• And I heard Ishaq say: "If you teach a man tayammum, that does not suffice you until you intend tayammum for yourself. And if you teach a man wudu and do not intend it for yourself, it does not suffice you. Wudu is like tayammum; it does not suffice until you renew the intention."
367 - Mahmud narrated to us, saying: Al-Walid narrated to us, saying: It was said to Abu 'Amr: A man is without wudu, and the time for prayer arrives, then a man comes to him asking him about tayammum, so he teaches it to him. Does that suffice him for his own tayammum for his prayer? He said: "It does not suffice him unless he intends it as both tayammum and instruction." Abu 'Amr said: "If he teaches him wudu and then performs wudu himself, it suffices him."

وأَخطَأ (١) حَيث وَقَّتوا في ذلك عَشرَة دَراهِم أنه إذا بَلَغَ ذلك أو جَاوَزَه؛ لم يَلزَمه الشِّراء. ولا نَرَى زَعمَهم أنه يُجزئه التَّيمُّم إذا أَصاب دونَ عَشرَة دَراهِم؛ فيما ذَكَرَ عَبدالله بن المبارَك، عن أبي حَنيفَة».
٣٦٤ - حدثنا مَحمود، قال: أبنا الوَليد، قال: قلت لأبي عَمرو: أَرَأَيت إن لم أَجِد ماءً إلا بِثَمَن؟ قال: «تَشتَريه ولا تَتيَمَّم إذا كان يُباع بِمِثل ما يبلغ به الماء».
٣٦٥ - قال: وحدثنا الوَليد، عن سُفيان الثوري، قال: «اشتَره بِمِثل ما يُباع به الماء».
٣٦٦ - قال: وحدثنا الوَليد، عن مالك بن أنس، مِثله.
باب: النِّيَّة في التَّيَمُّم
• وسمعت إسحاق يقول: «إنْ عَلَّمت رَجلًا التَّيمُّم؛ فَلا يُجزِئك ذلك، حتى تَنوي به التَّيمُّم، وإذا عَلَّمت رَجلًا الوضوء، ولم تَنوِ لِنَفسِك؛ لم يُجزِك. والوضوء مِثل التَّيمُّم؛ لا يُجزِئ حتى تُجَدِّد نِيةً».
٣٦٧ - حدثنا مَحمود، قال: ثنا الوَليد، قال: قيل لأبي عَمرو: فَرَجلٌ على غَير وضوء، حَضَرَت الصَّلاة، فَجاءَه رَجلٌ يَسأَله عن التَّيمُّم، فَعَلَّمَه إيَّاه، أَيُجزِئه ذلك من تَيمُّمِه لِصَلاته؟ قال: «لا يُجزئه إلا أن يَنوِيَه تَيمُّمًا وَتَعليمًا». قال أبو عَمرو: «فَإن عَلَّمَه الوضوء، فَتوضَّأ؛ أَجزَأَه».
