Translation · EN

413 - Abu al-Qasim said: Regarding Abu 'Ubayd's statement: 'Intiqas al-ma' (diminishing water) means: washing the penis with water; for when he washes it with water, his urine flow ceases.'

Chapter: Circumcision

• I asked Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Ishaq ibn Ibrahim about the hadith of Ibrahim: that he was circumcised with an adze (qadum)? They said: 'Al-Qadum is a place.'

• Ahmad was asked about a man who embraces Islam at an old age: should he get circumcised? He said: 'Yes, unless he fears for his life due to death or something similar.'

• I asked Ishaq: 'An old man embraces Islam, should he get circumcised?' He said: 'No.' I asked Ishaq: 'If he is a young man and embraces Islam, should he get circumcised?' He said: 'If it is possible for him and he does not fear for his life, then he should get circumcised.'
