• I heard Ishaq—another time—say: 'If a man reaches the age of circumcision and is not circumcised, then he is subject to the warning stated by Ibn 'Abbas, unless he embraced Islam as an old man fearing for his life; in that case, he should not be circumcised, and in his religious deeds, he is like one who is circumcised, because he abandoned it due to a valid excuse.'
414 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Mu'tamir narrated to us, from Sulaym ibn Abi al-Dhayyal, from al-Hasan, who said: 'It has reached me that Musmi' ibn Malik turned his attention to some old men from Kaskar, examined them, and found they were not circumcised. He ordered them to be circumcised during the intensity of this cold, and some of them died. Yet, Romans, Persians, and Abyssinians embraced Islam with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he did not examine any of them—or: it has not reached me that he examined any of them.'
415 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh informed us, from al-Ash'ath, from al-Hasan, that he saw no harm in an old man who embraces Islam not getting circumcised, and he saw no harm in his leading the prayer, performing Hajj, or the lawfulness of his slaughtered animals.
416 - Ahmad ibn Nasih narrated to us, saying: 'Umar ibn Harun narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever embraces Islam should get circumcised, even if he is an old man.'
