Chapter: The Circumcision of Men and Women
• I heard Ishaq say: 'It used to be said: Circumcision is a Sunnah for men, and an honor for women.'
417 - Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Wahid narrated to us, saying: al-Hajjaj narrated to us, from Makhul, from Abu Ayyub, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Circumcision is a Sunnah for men, and an honor for women.'
418 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir al-Dimashqi narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: I said to Malik ibn Anas: 'Is the circumcision of boys at seven days?' He said: 'I do not know about seven days, but circumcision is a purification, so the sooner it is performed, the more beloved it is to me.'
419 - al-Walid said: Abu 'Amr al-Awza'i said: 'Circumcision for men is a Sunnah; no one may abandon it, unless it is delayed for a man who has embraced Islam due to extreme cold or extreme heat.'
It was said to Abu 'Amr: 'A man was circumcised, but the circumciser left some of the skin, did not remove it, and did not pay attention to it until it healed?' He said: 'If the majority of it has been purified, he does not repeat it, but if the majority of it remains, he must repeat the circumcision.'
420 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, saying: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, from Mubashshir ibn 'Ubayd, who said: I was sitting with Zayd ibn Aslam when he was asked: 'When should a young girl be circumcised?' He said: 'Between the age of eight and nine; it should not be delayed beyond that.'
باب: خِتان الرِّجال والنِّساء
• وسمعت إسحاق يقول: «كان يُقال: الخِتان سُنةٌ للرجال، مَكرُمَةٌ للنِّساء».
٤١٧ - حدثنا محمد بن أبي بكر، قال: ثنا عبد الواحِد، قال: ثنا الحجاج، عن مَكحُول، عن أبي أيوب، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «الخِتان سُنةٌ للرِّجال، ومَكرُمَةٌ للنِّساء».
٤١٨ - حدثنا محمد بن الوَزير الدِّمشقي، قال: ثنا الوَليد بن مُسلِم، قال: قلت لمالك بن أنس: خِتان الغِلمان لِسَبعَة أيام؟ قال: «ما أدري ما سَبعَة أيام، ولكن الخِتان طُهرَة، فكُلَّما قَدَّمتها فهو أَحَبُّ إليَّ».
٤١٩ - قال الوَليد: قال أبو عَمرو الأوزاعي: «الخِتان للرِّجال سُنَّة، لَيسَ لأَحَدٍ تَركُه، إلا أن يُؤَخَّرَ عن رَجلٍ أَسلَم؛ مِن بَردٍ شَديد، أو حَرٍّ شَديد».
قيل لأبي عَمرو: رَجلٌ اختَتَن، فأبقى الخَتَّان من الجِلدَة شيئًا لم يَأتِ عَلَيها ولم يَأبَه لِذلك حتى بَرأ؟ قال: «إن كان أَكثَرها قد طَهَّره؛ فلا يُعيد، وإن كان أَكثَرها قد بَقي؛ أَعاد الخِتان».
٤٢٠ - حدثنا عَمرو بن عُثمان، قال: ثنا بَقيَّة بن الوَليد، عن مُبَشِّر بن عُبَيد، قال: كنت جالِسًا عند زَيد بن أسلم، فَسُئل: متى تُخفَض الجارية؟ فقال: «ما بَين الثَّمان إلى التِّسع، لا تُؤَخَّر أَكثَر من ذلك».
