421 - Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yazid informed us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from Yahya ibn Muslim, from Jabir ibn Zayd, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: 'The prayer of an uncircumcised man is not accepted, his slaughtered animal is not eaten, and his testimony is not accepted.'
422 - Muhammad ibn 'Awf al-Homsi narrated to us, saying: Abu Ayyub al-Dimashqi narrated to us, from Marwan al-Fazari, who said: Muhammad ibn Hassan narrated to me, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from Umm 'Atiyyah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded a circumciser to perform the procedure and said: 'If you circumcise, do not overdo it, for that is more gratifying for the woman and more beloved to the husband.'
423 - 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Salam narrated to us, saying: Mubashshir ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn 'Urwah al-Dimashqi, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: 'I entered upon my maternal aunt Maymunah, and there was a salafah—meaning her jewelry(1)—in the house. Maymunah was saying to the circumciser: "When you perform the reduction(2), just touch the surface and do not overdo it, for it is brighter for the face and more gratifying for her with her husband."'
(1) Thus it is in the original, and the meaning of the two obscure words (s-l-f-h, h-l-y-h) has not become clear to me. (2) In the original: "khafazat" (with a zay).
