Chapter: Burying Hair and Fingernails
I heard Ahmad say: "Hair and fingernails are to be buried, and if one does not do so, we do not see any harm in it."
424 - Al-Husayn ibn Salamah narrated to us, saying: Salm ibn Qutaybah narrated to us, saying: 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar narrated to us, from Nafi', that Ibn 'Umar shaved his head and ordered that his hair be buried.
425 - Ahmad ibn 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Salam ibn Harb narrated to us, from Layth, from 'Abd al-Karim, that 'A'ishah clipped her fingernails and buried them.
426 - Al-Husayn ibn Salamah narrated to us, saying: Salm informed us, saying: 'Abd al-Jabbar ibn 'Abbas al-Hamdani narrated to us, saying: A sheikh from the Banu Hashim narrated to me, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded the burying of blood, hair, and menstrual discharge.
427 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, saying: Al-Yaman ibn 'Adi narrated to us, from Zuhayr ibn Muhammad, from al-Zuhri, from Qabisah ibn Dhu'ayb, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), that he said: "Bury your hair, your fingernails, and your blood, so that the sorcerers of the children of Adam may not play with them."
باب: دَفن الشَّعر والأَظفَار
• سمعت أحمَد يقول: «يدفن الشَّعر والأظفار، وإن لم يَفعَل؛ لم نَرَ عَلَيه شيئًا».
٤٢٤ - حدثنا الحسين بن سَلَمَة، قال: ثنا سَلم بن قتيبة، قال: ثنا عبد الله بن عُمَر، عن نافع، أن ابن عُمَر حَلَقَ رَأسَه، فأَمَرَ بِدَفن شَعره.
٤٢٥ - حدثنا أحمَد بن عُبَيدالله، قال: ثنا عبد السلام بن حرب، عن ليث، عن عبد الكريم، أن عائشَة قَلَّمَت أظفارَها، فدَفَنَتها.
٤٢٦ - حدثنا الحسين بن سَلَمَة، قال: أبنا سَلم، قال: ثنا عبد الجبَّار بن عَبَّاس الهَمْداني، قال: حدثني شيخٌ من بني هاشِم، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أَمَرَ بِدَفن الدَّم والشَّعر والحَيضَة.
٤٢٧ - حدثنا عَمرو بن عُثمان، قال: ثنا اليَمان بن عدي، عن زهير بن محمد، عن الزُّهري، عن قَبِيصَة بن ذُؤَيب، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، أنه قال: «ادفِنوا شُعورَكم وأظفارَكم ودِماءَكم؛ لا يَلعَبْ بها سَحَرة بَني آدم».
