438 - Ahmad ibn Nasr narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Harb and 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Malik ibn Anas said: "There is no harm in a man looking at his son's wife and the hair of his mother-in-law."

Ahmad ibn Nasr said: "He may take her for Hajj, and carry her, and [do] all of that."

Chapter: A Woman Sleeping with Her Son Under One Cover

• I asked Ishaq about a boy of fifteen years old; does he sleep with his mother or his grandmother under the same cover while naked? Ishaq said: "The Sunnah is that a man should not have skin-to-skin contact with a man, and a woman should not have skin-to-skin contact with a woman. If it is a parent and a child, they may sleep together in one bed until they reach ten years of age. If [the child] exceeds that, then a parent should not have skin-to-skin contact with their child after that, except with something [to act as a barrier]... [due to] the thoughts that occur in the heart. As for those below six or seven years old, there is no harm in having skin-to-skin contact with his daughter; this is because she has not yet reached the stage of desire, which is why they permitted it."

439 - Mahmud ibn Khalid narrated to us, saying: 'Umar narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, saying: 'Isa ibn Salim narrated to us, saying: I heard Ayyub ibn Musa saying: "It is disliked for a woman to have skin-to-skin contact with her daughter if modesty is known from her—that is, if marriage is proposed to her and she shows modesty—and it is disliked for a man to have skin-to-skin contact with his son if he has reached five years of age."
