Translation · EN

440 - He said: Al-Awza'i was asked about a young boy who is two, three, or four years old; [can he] sleep with his father? He did not see any harm in that.

441 - 'Amr narrated to us, saying: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, saying: I heard Ibn Jurayj saying: I heard 'Ata' saying: "If a boy reaches five years of age, he should not be naked with his mother while sleeping."

Chapter: Looking at an Animal While It Is Giving Birth

• I said to Ishaq: May a man look at an animal while it is giving birth? He said: "There is no harm in that."

• I said to Ishaq: What about a man looking at an animal while it is mounting another animal? He said: "There is no harm, as it has no sanctity."

• I asked Ishaq about an animal being mounted onto its mother or its daughter? He said: "I do not know of any prohibition, but it is better that it is not mounted."

• I asked about a donkey being mounted onto a horse [mare]? He said: "I dislike it most severely."

442 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: Sharik narrated to us, from 'Uthman ibn Abi Zur'ah, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from 'Ali ibn 'Alqamah, from 'Ali, that he asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: May a donkey be mounted onto a horse [mare]? He said: "No, only those who do not know do that."
