542 - Muhammad ibn Nasr ibn Sa'id narrated to us, he said: Hassan ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us, he said: I heard al-'Ala' say: I heard Makhul narrating from Abu Umamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The minimum menstruation for a virgin girl and a woman who has reached menopause is three [days], and the maximum menstruation is ten days. If she sees blood for more than ten days, she is a woman suffering from istihaḍah; she makes up what exceeded the days of her menstrual cycle."

543 - Hannad ibn al-Sari narrated to us: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hasan, from 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As, who said: "A woman is not considered to be suffering from istihaḍah in one day, two days, or three days, until she reaches ten days. If she reaches ten days, then she is suffering from istihaḍah."

544 - Ahmad ibn Azhar narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Rabi', he said: Al-Hasan said: "Menstruation is ten [days]; whatever exceeds that is istihaḍah."

545 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, he said: Marwan ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, he said: Umm al-Dahhak narrated to me, from Khalid ibn Ma'dan, who said: "The minimum of menstruation is three days, and the maximum is ten."
