552 - Abu al-Azhar narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, saying: Sufyan said: 'When a woman first menstruates, she should sit [for] menses [for a period] similar to [that of] her female relatives.'
553 - Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us, saying: Hassan ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Abu Hanifa wrote to me, and Zafar said, regarding a woman who had never menstruated until she became a mustahada (suffering from irregular bleeding): 'We look to the time [typical for] her female relatives; if she is a captive whose female relatives' time we do not know, then the first thing she sees of blood is menses, [for a duration of] between her and ten days, then she performs ghusl and prays, and performs wudu for every prayer for [the duration of] between her and twenty days, then she is considered menstruating after the twenty [days] for ten [days]; this is the time of menses for her.'
