Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 229

Translation · EN

Ishaq said: I asked al-Nadr ibn Shumayl about the Bahri blood, so he recited these verses:

"...And a rose-colored [discharge] from the interior, and a Bahri [type], From what the vein deemed harmful, until the moisture dissolved from it, And from it became the flowing sugary [blood]..."

So the Bahri blood is: The red [blood] that inclines toward blackness.

And Harb narrated to me, from Ishaq, from al-Nadr, with these verses; Harb recited them to me.

569 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abi 'Adi informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh used to experience istihada, so the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to her: "Indeed, menstrual blood is a black blood that is known; so when it is that, refrain from the prayer, and when it is the other, perform wudu' and pray; for it is only a vein."
