Chapter: Khaluq (a yellow perfume) when one prays while it is on his body
• I said to Ishaq: "What if he prays while there is some khaluq on his garment, and it contains no intoxicant?" He said: "There is no harm in it, provided it contains no intoxicant."
• I asked Ishaq on another occasion, saying: "A man prayed while there was khaluq on his body?" He said: "He ought to wash it off, because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade a man from using saffron. However, if he prays [with it on], his prayer is valid."
55 - Abu Ma'n narrated to us, saying: Abu Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from his two grandfathers, who said: We heard Abu Musa al-Ash'ari say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The prayer of a man who has any khaluq on his body is not accepted."
Chapter: Prayer on a donkey's packsaddle
• I asked Ahmad about praying on a donkey's packsaddle, and he said: "I do not know what to tell you; I do not like anything pertaining to the donkey."
• I asked Ishaq, saying: "A man prayed on a donkey's packsaddle?" He said: "There is no harm in it."
