Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 247Chapter: A woman seeing yellow or brownish discharge after purity

Translation · EN

601 - 'Amr ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, saying: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: A man narrated to me, from Maymun ibn Mihran, that the daughter of Sa'id ibn Jubayr was his wife, and she would menstruate once a year; for two months before she would see purity. She would not pray until she became pure, and Maymun would not command her to pray.

602 - Al-Walid said: I heard al-Awza'i say—regarding a woman who does not menstruate in the year except once, and when she menstruates she remains for two months before she sees purity—he said: "She shall not pray until she sees purity. This is her menstruation, if she remains like this throughout her lifetime. And if she were divorced, she would count this menstruation as two months [for each cycle], for three years."

Chapter: The woman who sees yellow or brownish discharge after purity

• I asked Ahmad ibn Hanbal, I said: A woman who sees yellow or brownish discharge after her purity? He said: "Everything she sees after her purity is nothing; she should fast and pray." I said: Even if it is blood? He said: "Even if it is blood."

• I heard Ishaq say: "If she sees yellow or brownish discharge attached to her menstruation during the days of her cycles, then that is all menstruation, and there is no disagreement among the scholars regarding that."

Harb said: "This, in my view, is the correct [opinion]."
