607 - Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Fatimah bint al-Mundhir narrated to me, saying: We were in the care of my grandmother Asma', along with her daughter's daughters. One of us would see purity, then perhaps the menstruation would relapse into yellow or brownish discharge, so she would order us to withdraw from prayer until we saw nothing but pure whiteness.
Abu Muhammad said: "This is how it is with me regarding the days of the menstrual cycles."

609 - Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Hafsah, from Umm 'Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah, that she said: "We did not consider yellow or brownish discharge after purity to be anything."
