68 - Hannad ibn al-Sari narrated to us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Hashim, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, who said: "Recite to me a verse [of the Qur'an] regarding the washing of garments!"

Chapter: He who touches the back of a dog while it is wet with water

• I said to Ishaq: A man touched a dog that had water poured upon it, and the back of the dog was wet, so a man touched it, then prayed without washing his hand? He said: "If his hand or his garment became wet from the dog, then it is appropriate for him to wash it."

69 - Muhammad ibn Marzuq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Mughirah, who said: A dog passed by me and touched my garment, so I asked Ibrahim? He said: "If it was wet, then wash it."

70 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, saying: Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying: I said to 'Ata': A dog touches my garment, should I sprinkle it [with water]? He said: "No."

71 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Khalid ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: 'Umar ibn 'Amir narrated to us, from Hammad, from Ibrahim—regarding the man who touches a dog—he said: "I prefer that he does not do so, but if he does, then let him wash his hand."
