Masa'il Harb al-Kirmani: Book of Purification (Taharah) and Prayer (Salah) - Edited by al-Surayyi'
Volume 1 · Page 2Book of Purification (Kitab al-Taharah)

Translation · EN

• "... [while] bowing in prayer, then he removed them and continued his prayer. Likewise, Ibn Umar would turn away [dismissing/ignoring] a small or large amount of blood he saw on his garment, and he would build [continue] upon what had passed, unless he spoke, in which case he must repeat it.

The ruling on urine and feces is more severe; because this is from an exit point that necessitates wudu (ablution), especially since we have not found a concession from the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and those who came after them regarding urine. Ibrahim al-Nakha'i was strict regarding this ... [distinguishing] between it and other impurities, saying: 'A small amount of urine and a large amount of it are the same,' and like ... al-Sha'bi ... al-Thawri ... followed ..."

• I asked Ishaq—another time—about blood if it is on a garment, and one prays in it while forgetting? He said: "He does not have to repeat what has passed, and he washes it for what is to come—even if it is the size of a dirham or less—because he was commanded to keep garments clean."

He said: "And Asma', when she asked the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) and said: 'A drop of menstrual blood gets on my garment?' He said: 'Scrape it, then rub it [with your fingers], then sprinkle it with water.'"

• I said to Ishaq: Do you consider all blood to be the same; menstrual blood and others? He said: "Yes, all of it is the same in my view."

Notes

(1) This is the beginning of what is available from the manuscript. (2) The word is obliterated; it appears to be at the end: "distinguished (mayyaza)". (3) There is an obliteration in the original; it appears the phrase is: "And likewise said al-Sha'bi, ..., and al-Thawri, and those who followed them."
