Chapter: Pus and Serous Fluid
• I said to Ahmad: Are pus, serous fluid, and blood all the same? He said: "Yes, they are all in the same category as blood."
• Ahmad was asked on another occasion about blood and pus. He said: "They are the same." It was said: Should he repeat the wudu if it flows? He said: "He repeats the wudu if it is excessive (fahishan)." It was said: How much is considered excessive? He said: "That which his heart deems to be excessive."
84 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: Sharik narrated to us, from Jabir, from 'Amir, who said: "Pus, blood, and serous fluid are the same."
Chapter: A Man Who Has an Eye Condition (Gharb) from Which Fluid Flows
• I said to Ahmad: A man has an eye condition (gharb) from which a tear flows that does not stop, and it is not purulent matter (middah)? He said: "If it is a tear, I hope that he does not need to perform wudu."
85 - Abu Ma'an narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman al-Bakrawi narrated to us, saying: Abu Khaldah narrated to us, saying: Abu al-'Aliyah said: "We have only been taught that when a man performs wudu, he remains in a state of wudu until he commits a hadath (ritual impurity). Whatever exits from his lower half, for that, there is wudu; and whatever exits from his upper half, for that, there is no wudu," meaning: phlegm, nasal mucus, and tears.
Chapter: Wudu after Cupping
• Ahmad was asked about a man who performs cupping. He said: "He performs wudu but does not perform ghusl."
باب: القَيح والصَّديد
• قلت لأحمد: القَيح والصَّديد والدم؛ كُلُّه واحِد؟ قال: «نَعم، كُلُّه بِمَنزِلة الدم».
• سُئل أحمَد -مرةً أخرى- عن الدم والقَيح؟ فقال: «هو واحِد». قيل: أيُعيد الوضوء إذا سَال؟ قال: «يُعِيد الوضوء إذا كان فاحِشًا». قيل: الفاحِش؛ قَدر كَم هو؟ قال: «ما يَقَعُ عَلَيه قلبُهُ أنه فاحِش».
٨٤ - حدثنا يَحيى الحِمَّاني، قال: ثنا شَريك، عن جابِر، عن عامِر، قال: «القَيح والدم والصَّديد سَواء».
باب: الرجل يكون في عَينِه غرْبٌ تَسِيل مِنه
• قلت لأحمد: رَجلٌ في عَينه غربٌ تَسِيلُ منه دَمعَةٌ لا تَرقَأ، ولَيسَ هي مِدَّة؟ قال: «إذا كان دَمعَةً؛ فإني أَرجُو ألَّا يَكُون عَلَيه وضوء».
٨٥ - حدثنا أبو مَعن، قال: ثنا عبد الرحمن البكراوي، قال: ثنا أبو خَلدَة، قال: قال أبو العالية: «إنما عُلِّمنا إذا توضَّأ الرجل فهو على وضوء حتى يُحدِثَ حَدَثًا، فما أحدَثَ مِن نِصفِه الأسفَل؛ فَفيه الوضوء، وما أحدَثَ مِن نِصفِه الأعلى؛ فلَيسَ عَلَيه وضوء»، يعني: النُّخَاع، والمُخَاط، والدُّموع.
باب: الوضوءِ من الحِجَامَة
• سُئل أحمَد عن الرجل يَحتَجِم؟ قال: «يتوضَّأ ولا يَغتَسِل».
