He said: I heard al-Awza'i say—regarding a man who entered the mosque while the people were in the Tashahhud, so he said the Takbir and sat—does he perform the Tashahhud with them? He said: "He suffices with the Tasbih (glorification of Allah)."
774 - Muhammad ibn Rafi' narrated to us, he said: Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Za'idah, he said: Abd al-Aziz ibn Rufay' narrated to us, from Ibn Mughaffal al-Muzani, he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you find the Imam prostrating, then prostrate, or bowing, then bow, or standing, then stand, and do not count the prostration if you did not catch the Rak'ah."
775 - Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, from Nafi', that Abdullah used to arrive while the people were prostrating, so he would prostrate with them, and he would not count it as part of his prayer.
• And I asked Ishaq—another time—I said: A man arrived at the Imam while he was prostrating? He said: "He says the Takbir for the opening of the prayer, and says: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika...', then he says the Takbir and prostrates." I said: And does he seek refuge (Ta'awwudh)? He said: "If he wishes, with 'Subhanaka Allahumma...', and if he wishes, when he raises his head from the prostration."
776 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, he said: al-Barsani narrated to us, he said: Hisham narrated to us, from al-Hasan, he said: "If you enter a mosque and they are in the last part of their prayer before the Imam concludes with Taslim, enter with them with a Takbir, then sit, and do not perform any supererogatory prayer before that. When the Imam concludes with Taslim, say the Takbir when you rise, for every rising has a Takbir."
