808 - Hadbah ibn Khalid narrated to us, saying: Aban ibn Yazid narrated to us, saying: Qatadah narrated to us, from Muwarriq al-'Ijli, that Ibn 'Umar used to recite Qaf and al-Dhariyat in the Dhuhr prayer.
• I asked Ahmad about the recitation in the Maghrib [prayer]? He said: "With the short surahs." I said: And the recitation in the Isha al-Akhirah (the last prayer of the night)? He said: "Like: {Wa al-Shams} (Surat al-Shams) and its likes."
809 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Khalid ibn Hayyan narrated to us, saying: 'Ubaydah ibn Hassan narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Karz, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the Maghrib prayer, and he recited the al-Mu'awwidhatayn (the two surahs seeking refuge).
810 - Abu Bakr al-Humaydi narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa'id and Sufyan narrated to us, both hearing it from 'Adi ibn Thabit, informing him about al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, who said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reciting in the Isha'—meaning Maghrib—with [Surat] al-Tin wa al-Zaytun.
(1) Thus it is in the original, and the correct reading is "wa al-Dhariyat". (2) Thus it is in the original, and the correct reading is "and Mis'ar", as it is in Musnad al-Humaydi and others from the narration of Sufyan. (3) Thus it is in the original, and perhaps the correct reading is "yuhaddith" (he narrates), as it is in Musnad al-Humaydi.
