822 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Hassan narrated to us, saying: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, saying: Ibn Hubayrah narrated to us, that he heard Maslamah ibn Mukhallad al-Ansari recite in the Friday prayer: {By the morning brightness} [Surat al-Duha] and: {Have We not expanded for you your chest?} [Surat al-Sharh].
823 - Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn al-Muntashir, from his father, from Habib ibn Salim, from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be pleased with both of them), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite in the Friday and the two Eid prayers: {Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High} [Surat al-A'la] and: {Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?} [Surat al-Ghashiyah].
Chapter: Recitation on the Pulpit during the Sermon (Khutbah)
• I asked Ahmad about the recitation during the sermon on the pulpit? He said: "There is nothing fixed regarding it; one may recite whatever one wishes."
824 - Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, saying: al-Hakam ibn Zuhayr narrated to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, from Ibn 'Abbas, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) recited on the pulpit Surah Sad.
825 - Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us, saying: Hassan narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Harun ibn 'Antarah, from his father, that 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite on the pulpit on Friday: {Say, "O disbelievers,"} [Surat al-Kafirun] and: {Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One."} [Surat al-Ikhlas].
